What is a Virtual Classroom (Web Conference) ?
The Virtual Classroom is an innovative tool, now also accessible from smartphones and tablets, as well as from PC and MAC, which allows you to see the teacher, talk to him, share documents and websites and also use the interactive whiteboard: all without having to install anything on PC/MAC and only a free APP for Android/iOS if you want to attend from smartphones and tablets: this tool allows you not to waste time in travelling but to benefit from our professionalism wherever you are and with flexibility: you can in fact book or cancel last minute, all at extremely advantageous conditions.
Who are the Teachers?
British has always stood for a very high level of Qualified and Experienced Teachers: it is the strength of our brand.
I would like to know the days and times available for the course.
Online conversation lessons start at 8 a.m. and finish at 9 p.m. in the evenings from Monday to Friday. On Saturdays there are slots available until approximately 3 p.m.
Do I need a PC to follow this type of course or is a tablet or smartphone sufficient?
Individual conversations take place via telephone or in the Virtual Classroom via PC/tablet/smartphone. Group conversations take place via the Virtual Classroom system accessible without having to download anything to a PC, while if you access via Tablet or Smartphone there is the special free APP; in both cases there is a special link that you will receive by email when you make your booking.
In the case of SPEAK & WRITE © Individual, if you wish to take advantage of the Writing Assistance, you simply enter the appropriate section, enter your text or copy it.
How long does the lesson last?
The duration is 45 minutes, so British offers 50% more than the 30' sessions normally offered on the market; in the case of SPEAK & WRITE © INDIVIDUAL, where the Writing Assistance service is also provided, each credit entitles you to have a document containing up to 1,500 spaced characters corrected from a linguistic point of view.
How does the Credits system work?
Once the course has been activated, you receive a certain number of credits, depending on the solution purchased; each credit corresponds, in the case of SPEAK & WRITE © INDIVIDUAL, to a lesson by telephone or in a Virtual Classroom (Web Conference) or in Writing Assistance, in the case of SPEAK & WRITE © GROUP, to a lesson in a Virtual Classroom (Web Conference), as you use the lessons, you will use your portfolio of credits: remember that you must use the credits that you have purchased within the contractual period: if, for example, you have purchased three months of SPEAK & WRITE © GROUP, the course is activated from your registration and test and you must use the credits within the three-month period.
When can I start booking conversations?
If you have purchased the SPEAK & WRITE © conversation solutions (Group and/or Individual) you will be able to use the web-conferences as soon as you have taken the initial test: simply go to the SPEAK & WRITE © section to view all available slots.
Can I book last minute?
Yes, lessons via telephone or virtual classroom can be booked up to one hour before the start of the lesson.
Can I cancel a booked lesson?
Yes, even if you have already confirmed a lesson, you can cancel it within one hour of the start of the session - without losing credit - by clicking on the booking in your name and cancelling it.
In addition to the lessons in the Virtual Classroom, are there any additional services?
Yes. The SPEAK & WRITE © British Offer includes a range of added services and content: you can check the details within the individual solution offered.
Are lessons with pre-defined topics?
Yes. When you book, you can check on the online agenda what is offered on a range of lesson options: each lesson offers a topic.
How do I benefit from the lesson?
Through the Virtual Classroom system: on PC/MAC you don't have to install anything; in the case of Tablet/Smartphone THROUGH the free App; in all cases you will receive the appropriate link when you book.
How many students can I find in the group?
British aims for quality and therefore for the lessons to be interactive. There can be a minimum of one student to a maximum of only 4 students in the class.
I have a scholastic level of knowledge and my aim is to be able to hold a slightly more articulate conversation.
There are two levels of difficulty for conversations: easy (CEFR COE Levels © A1 and A2) and fluent (CEFR COE Levels © B1 and B2).
